About this web edition
This is the complete English v0.4.2 manuscript of Edge Computing Systems, converted from the supplied Word document. It includes the preface, fourteen chapters, Appendices A–E (including selected exercise solutions), 211 references, and photograph/product-image credits.
What changed in the conversion
The web edition replaces the printed cover and page-number contents with navigable HTML. The chapter sequence, section headings, manual figure/table identifiers, prose, tables, code examples, and equation objects are retained. Numerical citations link to the original reference entries. Images are extracted from the manuscript rather than reconstructed or redrawn. Word underlining is rendered as ordinary text; bold and italic emphasis are retained.
The source and conversion inventory are recorded in SOURCE_MANIFEST.json in the repository. Automated checks compare rendered text with the conversion input and check image hashes, chapter coverage, references, equation objects, and local links. Those checks do not verify the scientific claims or rerun the laboratory experiments.
Images and publication status
The original photograph permissions and publication caveats remain in force. Some manufacturer/media images and older course-slide photographs have unconfirmed publication permission. Their inclusion in this supplied review manuscript is not evidence of clearance, and this conversion does not grant new rights. Read the photograph and product-image credits and Appendix E.
The existing repository LICENSE is not changed by this migration. Third-party images retain the stated source licenses or permission restrictions; no claim is made that the repository license overrides them.
Companion materials
The manuscript describes companion laboratory/source packages. These are not newly supplied or executed by this website conversion. References to experiments preserve the manuscript's distinctions among measurements, analytical examples, synthetic records, and proposed deployments.
Corrections
Corrections can be proposed through the repository's issue tracker or a pull request. The editable web sources are in docs/chapters/ and docs/appendices/. Revise those source files rather than generated HTML.
